Teenager Gets Arrested After Stabbing Two Pupils in London

(MENAFN) A 13-year-old boy has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder after two students were stabbed Tuesday at a northwest London school.

Police were called to Kingsbury High School in the Brent area around 12:40 p.m. (1240 GMT) following reports of the attack. The incident left two boys, aged 12 and 13, injured and in need of hospital treatment, the London Ambulance Service confirmed.

Authorities identified a teenage suspect and launched a search before arresting the 13-year-old on suspicion of attempted murder. A weapon believed to have been used in the attack was recovered, and the suspect remains in custody.

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams said armed and local officers arrived at the scene within 13 minutes of the emergency call. While counter-terror police are leading the investigation, it has not been declared a terrorist incident.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood described the stabbing as a “shocking attack” and called for space for police to conduct their investigation. London Mayor Sadiq Khan said, “My thoughts are with the family, friends and wider community in Brent following the appalling stabbings today.”
